U.S. Army whistleblower Chelsea Manning will receive gender affirming surgery, and is ending her hunger strike after five days, her lawyers have confirmed.
“I am unendingly relieved that the military is finally doing the right thing,” Manning said in a statement. “I applaud them for that. This is all that I wanted — for them to let me be me. But it is hard not to wonder why it has taken so long.”
Until her surgery, the military will still require Manning to keep her hair short.
Manning’s psychologist formally recommended surgery in April 2016. Despite recommendations dating back to 2014 that she be allowed to grow her hair out, the military has not allowed her to do so.
Since her arrest in 2010, Manning has suffered numerous abuses, including being forced to strip naked, prolonged solitary confinement, disciplinary charges for such things as having expired toothpaste in her cell, and being denied medical care.
Manning still faces a hearing on Sept. 20 concerning charges related to her suicide attempt.
Manning’s struggle to obtain medical care mirrors the struggle of transgender inmates nationwide. Despite major medical associations recognizing reassignment surgery as necessary medical care for gender dysphoria, no transgender prisoner has ever received gender reassignment surgery in a U.S. prison, according to the ACLU.
Chase Strangio, Manning’s lawyer with the ACLU, issued the following statement: “This is a monumental day for Chelsea, who can now enjoy some peace knowing that critically needed medical care is forthcoming. This medical care is absolutely vital for Chelsea as it is for so many transgender people — in and out of prison — who are systemically denied treatment solely because they are transgender. Thankfully the government has recognized its constitutional obligation to provide Chelsea with the medical care that she needs and we hope that they will act without delay to ensure that her suffering does not needlessly continue.”

So, is there any board to control secret service and their behavior with manning? it is clear that behind prison guards behavior is nobody else than the head of military intelligence.
Is her right to have nice hair dependent on her getting “top” surgery or “bottom” surgery? Is she scheduled for both now? At some point do they also move her to a women’s facility?
Manning may be a flake, but what he exposed “Collateral Murder” should have sent a lot of military Brass to prison, but didn’t.

Oh my, it is such a wonderful thing that the military command structure finally relented to allow this poor, poor, shadow of a man have his pecker removed. This is indeed an object of some speculation. In theory, an enlightened system with universal health care would leave such decisions to trusted and impartial professionals who care only for their patient. In reality …. I am anticipating Manning can expect a botch job unworthy of an ancient priest of Atarvatis. I actually wonder if the CIA will introduce one or two of their consultants into their process, world expert psychologists who have planned out in their minds precisely how to best fuck up a sex change operation in order to mess with the head of the recipient. They might write a memoir on it, or maybe a manual for future practitioners.

And what makes one’s blood boil is the fact that this individual got thrown into prison to rot under abusive conditions while 99% of the political system are elite criminals guilty of mass murder, theft, theft by deception, high treason, war crimes, fraud, support and funding of terrorist organizations and the list goes on and on, yet, somehow they walk scott free.

What makes a person’s blood boil here is to see how quickly a person who exposed government corruption on a large scale got quickly thrown into prison to rot in there under terrible and abusive conditions and yet sub human career criminal politicians like Hillary Clinton who commit mass murders, high treason, theft, theft by deception, support and terrorist group funding and arming, fraud, war crimes, and much more walk scott free!
