Setareh Baig is The Intercept’s Audience Engagement Producer. She was previously a design fellow for ProPublica’s Local Reporting Network. She spearheaded a project on personalization with audience privacy, in collaboration with The Intercept, the New Yorker, and the analytics service Parse.ly, to deepen connections with readers. She has also collaborated with the Wall Street Journal to create stories on emerging platforms for new and younger audiences. Baig studied innovations in journalism at NYU’s Studio 20 and was part of a team that won a 2018 Emmy Award for a story about New York as a sanctuary city. She graduated from Florida State University. She is based in New York.
