(U) Call for Language Analysis Skill Community's Keystone Language
Award
FROM: Renee M. Meyer
NSA/CSS Senior Language Authority
Run Date: 12/02/2003
(U//FOUO) The Director, NSA/CSS invites nominations for the prestigious Keystone Language
Award. This honorary award seeks to recognize and thus encourage the best efforts among
NSA/CSS military and civilian language analysts and is granted to individuals in recognition of
the highest technical and operational productivity in the field of language. Named for the
remarkable decryption and translation of the Rosetta Stone in the late 18th Century, the award
represents one of the highest and most coveted forms of recognition in the language community.
It is given twice a year to an elite few.
(U//FOUO) Supervisors are asked to consider the most creative, innovative, and highly
productive language analysts in their organizations for the Keystone. The achievements
of nominees during the last 12 to 18 months should have added to the general store of
knowledge or led to a specific breakthrough. For specific submission criteria and suggestions see
guidelines at: KEYSTONE .
(U//FOUO) Nominations should be in memorandum form addressed to the Language Analysis
Keystone Language Award Panel, through appropriate administrative channels within the
individual's assigned organization. Nominations are also welcome from three working language
analysts who can personally attest to the excellence of the language analyst being
recommended, as long as they are not subordinate to the individual being recommended. Peer
nominations do not need to go through administrative channels within the assigned
organization.
(U//FOUO) Keystone nominations should be submitted in hardcopy with appropriate signatures
to the Office of the NSA/CSS Senior Language Authority, Attn: Keystone Language Award Panel,
2W082 Ops 1, Suite 6486, and also in softcopy to
nsa, by 6 February 2004 for
consideration for the Spring 2004 award cycle. If you would like more information, please
contact
@nsa) or call
. The operating provisions under which
this award is administered are delineated in the PML Chapter 503.
