(U//FOUO) There were two main themes in all of the winning nominations for the Fall 2003
Keystone Award: collaboration and mentoring. It seems these traits are as valued as unique
linguistic achievements, exceptional target contributions, and high productivity, the primary
categories for nomination. What follows are the names of the honorees and excerpts from those
nominations:
cross-trained as a Pashto linguist and in 8 month's time achieved a level III. He
also showed dedication to developing language skills in others by providing follow-on training
and mentoring to junior language analysts.
maintains high standards in language analysis, which is evident in his molding of
junior operators, cryptanalysts and language analysts into intelligence professionals.
Sergeant First Class
, USA is recognized for his rapport and professional
exchanges with analysts across the community, which have helped build coalitions, greatly
enhanced inter-office relations, and enabled the best possible use of all available resources on
the target.
is a magnificent teacher who has trained countless language analysts with a unique,
whole-student approach and innovative, tailored techniques that are renown throughout the
Community.
makes use of three languages working on a high-priority target. She
is a member of the Standing Committee on Language Testing, ensuring the tests are reliable,
appropriate and timely.
is a sterling example of a high-end, 21st Century
cryptologic language analyst.
is a daily inspiration to his peers, who value his opinions and seek his
assistance on the thorniest of language issues, research techniques and computer-related
problems. He is a mentor in every sense of the word.
