What: Overview of NGA's Geospatial Sciences Division

(U//FOUO) You are cordially invited to attend a presentation by the National Geospatial
Intelligence Agency (NGA), Office of Transnational Issues, Geospatial Sciences Division for an
overview of their geospatial activities, hosted by NSA's Customer Account Management Division
and the NSA NGA Support Team (PNN).
(U//FOUO) The briefer at this presentation will be Mr. Leroy Schmieder, Senior Technical
Advisor, St Louis Geospatial Science Division, NGA
(U) Scope of Presentation :
(U//FOUO) NGA's Office of Transnational Issues, Geospatial Sciences Division will provide an
overview of their geospatial activities. This overview will focus primarily on the eight main thrust
areas of the Geospatial Division to include: Global Positioning System (GPS), World Geodetic
System 1984 (WGS 84), Weapon Systems Analysis, Geonames, Coordinate System Analysis,
Geotechnical Analysis, Geodetic Surveys, and Geo-Intel Applications. Specific examples will be
covered for each thrust area and how the Geospatial Division supports the customer. The
Geospatial Sciences Division provides accurate and timely expert analysis of worldwide gravity,
satellite and positional information including imagery and mapping control for navigation, safety,
intelligence, positioning and targeting in support of national security objectives.
