"Radical Islam in Central Asia" will be presented by SINIO for Russia/Eurasia, on Tuesday, 31 August, from 1130-1300 in Room 2N044 . (U) Course Overview: (U//FOUO) Recent terrorist events in Central Asia have been attributed to radical Islamic groups that have gone underground in that region. This brownbag session will discuss the background, theology, and recent activities of groups centered in Central Asia, such as the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, Hizb Ut-Tahrir, etc. Open roundtable discussion will follow the presentation.
