Open Source Signals Analysis: Not Your Grandfather’s SIGINT!

SUMMARY

Using a combination of expert analysis and voice recognition tools that were developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the NSA was able to confirm that a set of publicly released recordings, ostensibly made by Iraq-based Al Qaeda figure Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, were indeed in al-Zarqawi's voice.
