When a US Air Force reconnaissance aircraft on a 1958 mission was shot down in Armenia, the Soviets denied responsibility. But tapes and transcripts of Soviet communications relating to the shoot-down were intercepted and copied to United Nations ambassadors. During a review of a Freedom of Information request that had been denied ten years ago, the tapes were located again and reviewed, 50 years after the event.
