I am a United States Postal Inspector assigned to the US Postal Inspection Service Jackson, MS, field office. I have over 13 years of experience as a law enforcement officer. During the past 22 months I have worked for the US Postal Inspection Service conducting numerous criminal investigations involving narcotics trafficking through the United States Mail. 2. On or about December 5, 2022, Postal Inspectors from the U.S. Postal Inspection Service Office in Jackson, MS identified a suspicious USPS package 3. Inspectors examined the package thoroughly and discovered indicators that are typical of narcotics packages sent through the mail. The sender's name - and the recipient's name are not associated with the addresses on the label according to USPS databases. The sender's post office box I MS has been closed since Sept 11, 2022 and was not registered to anyone named- • In addition, 11 other packages bearing the same packaging, size, weight, handwriting, and sender were mailed at the same time to different recipients across the country. The mass nationwide mailings of this kind are typical of illicit drug sales through the internet. 4. Richland Police Detective Lieutenan- inspecteid the package with his certified narcotic K-9 "RIP." During a multi-parcel K-9 inspection, "RIP" "alerted" on the mail package previously described. Detective Lieutenant •- observed the "alert" when sitting.
