Bob White, a wheat farmer whose family has been farming this land since 1902, stands next to his fields. He believes the hospital should do everything it can to stay open because 7 years ago, when he had a heart attack it was the Wellington hospital that saved his life. While many residents can opt to move to larger towns with hospitals, Bob cannot. "Farmers just can't pick up and go." He currently works as an insurance broker in order to help pay for rising health insurance costs and says he knows few farmers who can afford to just farm full time. Wellington, KS. July 20, 2017.
