Jacqueline Stevens is a professor and political theorist at Northwestern University. She writes about political theories of membership and was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship. Her work has appeared in the New York Times, The Nation, and The Guardian, and been widely covered, including by the New Yorker, "This American Life," and the Washington Post. She is the founding director of the Deportation Research Clinic in the Buffett Institute for Global Affairs at Northwestern University and the author of numerous scholarly articles as well as 'Reproducing the State, States Without Nations: Citizenship for Mortals," and co-author of "Citizenship-in-Question: Evidentiary Birthright and Statelessness."
